Rachel’s Wonders is the commercial side of Rachel Gaw
Jewellery, a
small business based in Cumbria, UK. Rachel
designs and makes
both contemporary jewellery which
she sells in galleries and exhibitions
but it is her
little Kitsch ‘wonders’ that have really taken the
online world by storm.
You may like to know that the epi-centre for all this
creative activity
is her Christmas present from
her father, her beloved shed!
Rachel’s Wonders was set up as a side line to my main
body of work
in 2010. After setting up a Facebook page
(Rachel’s Wonders Jewellery)
to promote the business,
she not only had an increase in sales but also saw
interest sore with models, photographers and stylists
wanting to use her
work in shoots.
Rachel has recently shot with Brandon Zachary in Florida
with the
gorgeous Kimber Lee as part of a nautical
shoot for Fables by Barrie.
Pin Up and Alternative UK Models
such as Miss Malice and Sailor Cherry
have also shot for
Rachel’s Wonders showing that her jewellery is
diverse for
all age groups and caters for all styles and tastes “I don’t
want my work to fit into any specific category but if I
had to choose I would
definitely go for the sophisticated
end of the Kitsch Kawaii look”.
People can choose to
customise their pieces as I'm able to offer a wide
variety of colours for each item. If you want something specific to
go with an outfit, or a roller skate in your local derby colours then
no problem!” Chunky bright coloured Roller Skates, Lipsticks
Stiletto heels and cute Mice are just a few of Rachel’s designs that
are combined with strings of pearls and sparkle for that little bit of
something ‘ sophistically unique’. New ranges of work that are coming
soon include, Tutti Fruity, a range of sumptuous fruit jewellery in bright
hues good enough to eat. Kings and Queens, where classic chess pieces
take a new form, and Bling Jewels. A range of rubies, sapphires,
emeralds and diamond inspired pieces that sparkle with delight.
